PetSpeak

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 21, 2026

PetSpeak is built so that your data stays yours. The short version: the app does not collect, transmit, or share any data. Everything stays on your device.

What the app stores (on your device only)

  • Your pet's profile — the name, species, and optional photo you provide.
  • Audio-derived features — when you record your pet, the app computes a small set of numbers describing the sound (such as loudness, pitch, and rhythm) along with the resulting mood guess. These stay on your device.
  • Your history — past mood results, your confirmations and corrections, and any context tags you choose.

What happens to recordings

Raw audio is analyzed on your device using Apple's built-in sound classification and standard signal processing, and is discarded immediately after analysis. Recordings are never saved, never replayable, and never sent anywhere.

What the app does not do

  • No data is transmitted off your device. The app makes no network requests of its own; the only network activity is Apple's StoreKit when you make or restore a purchase, which is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
  • No accounts, no sign-in, no email collection.
  • No analytics, no advertising, no tracking of any kind.
  • No sharing of any information with third parties — there is nothing to share.

Purchases

PetSpeak offers a single one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment information.

Deleting your data

Settings → "Delete all data" permanently removes everything the app has stored. Deleting the app does the same.

Children

PetSpeak does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date. Since the app's design goal is that nothing leaves your device, we don't expect it to change in spirit.
